The Midterm Evaluation of USAID/Indonesia’s Decentralized Basic Education (DBE) Project

In conducting this mid-term evaluation, TMG assisted in making informed management decisions regarding the implementation of the remainder of the Decentralized Basic Education (DBE) project. The evaluation team used six basic methods to obtain information and data: reviewing project documents; observation of non-DBE and DBE-assisted schools; interviews with principals, teachers, and knowledgeable individuals; focus group discussions; anonymous questionnaires administered to different stakeholders; and classroom checklists. The field survey collected 753 questionnaires from three provinces and analyzed the data.
