Georgia Analytical Foundations Assessment in the Agriculture (Rural Productivity) and Financial Sectors

Georgia Analytical Foundations Assessment in the Agriculture (Rural Productivity) and Financial Sectors

TMG conducted an assessment that built upon a series of USAID-funded analyses of various aspects of Georgia’s financial services sector. To conduct this analytical foundations assessment, TMG assembled and fielded a team of four international Expatriates and four Georgian Experts. Its primary focus was middle-market enterprises and micro-financing activities of the Georgian commercial banks and MFI’s. TMG also determined the extent to which the financial needs of these entities are being met by the financial system. This assessment developed approaches and made recommendations as to how the existing gap between the demand and supply sides of available financial services primarily for middle market enterprises might be reduced. The primary purpose of the Assessment was to provide the analytical foundations necessary to inform the Mission’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy (CDCS).

American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) Assistance

American Schools and Hospitals Abroad (ASHA) Assistance

TMG provided assistance to the Office of American Schools and Hospitals Abroad, for review, evaluation and maintenance audits of grants made to sponsors of overseas institutions. The contract focused on strengthening the analytical capacity of institutions to prepare better grant application and accountability of grantees (and local partners) during implementation. TMG provided both home office and on-site management support for this contract. Our overall project management helped ASHA develop improved results planning, performance measurement and evaluation methods, training approaches, and reporting instruments to USAID and Congress.

Rwanda Economic Growth and Grants Activity

Rwanda Economic Growth and Grants Activity

The overall goal of TMG, and USAID’s Economic Growth Grants Activity was to provide direct, high-impact, community based, support for agriculture based activities that will in turn increase rural incomes, improve livelihoods among producing associations and cooperatives. Introducing improved technologies that add value to agricultural products is to be a focus of intervention. Working primarily through the Rwanda Women’s Network (RWN), the purpose of this contract was to implement an innovative program to support SO3 overall objectives and specifically provide direct, community-based, high-impact, start-up support for sustainable, agricultural-based activities that increase rural incomes and improve livelihoods among producer associations and cooperatives. Assistance included economic and material inputs through the provision of sub-grants, training and capacity building. Actions ranged from solicitation to award of subgrants, as well as payments. The focus of intervention was introducing improved technologies that add value to agricultural products.
