To conduct a performance evaluation for the Cambodia Countering Trafficking-in-Persons (CTIP) activity, make recommendations to improve the performance of CTIP in the remaining period, and provide lessons learned to USAID/Cambodia in designing and managing CTIP programs.
Under this IQC, TMG implemented task orders and provided short-term quick-response advisory and technical assistance in the key areas of the education capacity building and literacy training for adults and out-of-school adolescents; early childhood development; strategic planning; performance monitoring and evaluation; curriculum development; teacher training; girls’ education and other gender issues; financial management; and related areas of human development.
In conducting this mid-term evaluation, TMG assisted in making informed management decisions regarding the implementation of the remainder of the Decentralized Basic Education (DBE) project. The evaluation team used six basic methods to obtain information and data: reviewing project documents; observation of non-DBE and DBE-assisted schools; interviews with principals, teachers, and knowledgeable individuals; focus group discussions; anonymous questionnaires administered to different stakeholders; and classroom checklists. The field survey collected 753 questionnaires from three provinces and analyzed the data.
The purpose of the Nepal Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Evaluation is to evaluate the effectiveness of USAID/OFDA’s disaster risk reduction programming in Nepal leading up to the Gorkha Earthquake of April 2015.
TMG evaluated the overall results and impact of the MBE program, including the project’s strengths and weaknesses, implementation mechanisms and lessons learned and explored approaches and strategies for continued support of successful elements after its completion by linking it with the Government of Indonesia (GOI), USAID’s on-going DBE program, and/or other implementers. TMG’s evaluation team used four basic methods to obtain its findings, including: reviewing of project documents; observation of MBE-assisted, non-MBE-assisted, and DBE assisted schools, principals, teachers and other educators; targeted questions and interviews with individuals and officials knowledgeable about the MBE and DBE projects; and targeted questions in focus group discussions with single and mixed groups of stakeholders.
USAID/Jakarta contracted with TMG to carry out an evaluation of the Partnership for EconomicGrowth (PEG) contract, which consisted of three components (technical assistance, grants for partnership, and training). Through this evaluation, the evaluation team, consisting of two expatriate consultants and a local specialist, determined the extent to which the activity is achieving its purposes through compiling success stories and lessons learned.
